Foeke 520 is a high-caliber Friesian stallion currently forming the heart of Doorndraai Friesian stud’s breeding program. His first foals in South Africa are due to be judged by KFPS judges in 2026, which is very exciting for the future of Doorndraai. Despite being relatively young, Foeke already has close to 150 registered offspring, showing increasing influence in the Friesian gene pool. His foals are noted for their expressive type, quality legwork, and strong movement.

Foeke made a significant move in his career when he was imported to Doorndraai Friesian Stud in South Africa, late 2024.

In 2020, Foeke passed his Central Performance Test with distinction, earning AAA scores in three disciplines riding, driving, and carriage. He is known for his strong, balanced gaits, excellent self-carriage, and versatility. Foeke displays a noble, modern type. He has a well-arched neck, a refined head, and strong, correct legs. His temperament is exceptional: he’s tractable, willing, and easy to work with both under saddle and from the carriage.

Taco 555 has recently become Foeke’s first approved son confirming that he stamps his versatile qualities, expressive paces and racial type. We at Doorndraai are very excited for both Foeke and Taco’s futures in influencing the Friesian horse as a breed.
