Ornella van Doorndraai is the first foal out of Ursula van Doorndraai, giving her a valuable place in a dam line deeply rooted in South African Friesian breeding through Ritse 322 mare, Yolandi van Doorndraai. She missed her foal inspection due to the Covid-19 period, but made an excellent impression at the 2025 inspection where she received a second premie Star. Ornella shows a natural forwardness and willingness to learn, making her a promising young mare to work with.

She is now preparing for the next stage of her development and will complete an IBOP test as she is under saddle. With her pedigree, movement and attitude, Ornella holds strong potential to become an important mare within our breeding programme.
