Loes van Doorndraai was an exceptional mare whose influence at Doorndraai Friesian Stud remains deeply valued. She progressed steadily through her judgings, receiving a second premie as a foal and earning her Star status with a second premie in 2014. Her ability was confirmed with an IBOP score of 81.5, and she went on to achieve the Crown predicate in 2016. Loes had her third foal at the end of 2023, and her first colt, Isak van Doorndraai, became Star at the 2023 inspection, showing promising potential for the future.

Loes had a willing, honest temperament that made her a pleasure to handle and train. She carried both athletic ability and correctness, qualities she passed on reliably to her offspring.

Losing Loes on 10 June was a heartbreaking moment for all of us. She was one of our most beloved mares, and her presence, both in the stable and through her offspring, will always remain an important part of Doorndraai’s identity.
