Zona van Doorndraai became Star at the 2022 inspection, marking an important achievement not only for herself but also for her dam line. She was the fourth Star offspring out of Mona Lisa van Doorndraai, which contributed to Mona Lisa earning her Preferent status as a self-bred Doorndraai mare. Zona has developed into a strong, reliable mare with a calm and cooperative temperament, making her a pleasure to work with.

She welcomed her first foal in December 2023, a beautiful filly by Wiebert 527, and has taken well to motherhood. Zona is also one of our mares in foal to Foeke 520, with the new arrival expected at the end of 2026. With her pedigree, temperament and proven ability to produce quality, Zona is set to play a meaningful role in our breeding programme going forward.
