Elsje is one of the two fillies that Wierd 409 produced in South Africa.  It was a huge loss to lose the dam Mintsje van Doorndraai to colic in December 2018.  Elsje is a strong mover and received 82,5% for her IBOP test in 2025 ridden by Ludo vd Weide.  At the 2025 Inspection she became another Crown mare for Doorndraai and we will be putting her in foal to Foeke 520 this year.

On 10 June we lost one of our best and most beloved mares, Loes.  She was and will always be a big part of Doorndraai Friesian Stud.  She became Crown in 2016 and had her third foal at the end of 2023.  Her first colt Isak van Doorndraai became star at the 2023 inspection and we are very excited about his future.
