Friso fan S. (Vb) is an FPS approved stallion with breeding permission available for stud. He arrived from the Netherlands on 24 August 2004. He is currently one of only 4 stallions that have breeding permission for 40 mares, while the rest of the Foalbook stallions have breeding permission for only 20 mares.

NEWSFLASH: Friso fan S. became the first foalbook stallion in the world to have a mare bred by him receiving ‘Voorlopig Kroon’ Pandora van Doorndraai must now compete in an IBOB test and receive a minimum of 77 points to be awarded “Kroon”

Friso fan S.’s son Troje van Doorndraai won the Senior Stallion in hand class at the recent FPSSA National Show and we were very proud of the father and son champion combination. Troje is the first locally bred Bb1 Star Stallion to win this class previously dominated by imported stallions.

Offspring

Friso’s offspring performed very well at the 2006 FPS inspections, with 3 of his foals, including Ruhan, recieving a 1st Premie. During the 2007 FPS inspections, he AGAIN had 3 offspring awarded with 1st Premies. At the 2008 FPS inspections, 3 more of his foals were awarded 1st Premies. This is the first time in the history of the FPSSA that a Foalbook stallion produced 3 first Premie foals in successive seasons. At the 2009 inspections, 2 of his offspring were awarded Star. We have great expectations of Friso and the influence he will have on the future of the Friesians in SA.

Friso fan S is one of only five A List stallions with a breeding permission in South Africa and has 40 coverings per season, which is double all other stallions with a breeding permission.
