Our last foal arived earlier this month and it has been a dream season for us. With twelve fillies and only seven colts we were popping champagne rather often. We were hoping for a filly from our Voorlopige Kroon mare Pandora van Doorndraai but unfortunately it was a little colt. With most of our studbook mares giving us fillies we couldn’t really complain. We allready have allmost twenty foals for next season and hope it will be dominated by fillies again. Watch this space to see how our foals do at the April 2012 inspections.

Pandora van Doorndraai x Tjalf 443 ‘Sport’

We were truly saving the best for last and hoped Pandora, our Voorlopige Kroon mare would give us a filly after giving us Hector van Doorndraai in 2010. Our run of fillies ran out and our last foal for the season was a colt. We’re holding thumbs this stunning mare will give us a filly next season.

Neenke Fan Bokkum Stb Star x Tjalf 443 ‘Sport’

Neenke Fan Bokkum, one of our imported mares have given us another beautiful little colt and after giving us a filly by Tjalf 443 ‘Sport’ last season we’re excited to see this little colt develop over the next few months.

This little mare has a very friendly and brave nature. Her dam Lenka is one of the mares that comes from Genius Loci and we’re very happy that she gave us yet another filly for this season.

On what turned out to be a busy day for Doorndraai with three foals born on one day our new mare Wanika G. gave us yet another filly. A new edition from Willie Saayman and Genius Loci stud it was a bonus to get a filly from this promising mare.
